"Vintage Hamilton Beach Drink Mixer" © Harold Ross

 As you might know, I love to photograph vintage machines and tools, so I was quite excited when I found this 1950's Hamilton Beach Drink Mixer!

The design is so cool, with a nod to Art Deco, and the color is just luscious.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the company is still producing these wonderful machines!

Of course, the use of my still life light painting techniques allowed me render every aspect of this beautiful machine in terms of dimension, detail and depth. It's all about the application of light and the enhancement of shape through my specialized masking methods. It's very much like painting, and it's so much fun!
