Why Use Photoshop Smoke Brushes

I draw a lot of inspiration from classic paintings, especially the Dutch Master Painters who would often paint smoke above an extinguished candle, for instance.

Here is an example of where I have used one of my Photoshop Smoke Brushes on this Light Painted still life photograph I made using the same techniques explained in the instructional video included with the brushes.

In the included video, I'll show examples of other looks that you can achieve by transforming, flopping, masking, gradating, colorizing and combining the brushes for your own unique results.

How To Create Smoke In Photoshop

When I was a commercial advertising photographer (shooting on film), I would literally spend hours creating smoke using a variety of methods. With the help of Adobe Photoshop, we can quickly create smoke using a special Photoshop Smoke Brush, which is MUCH easier than the techniques we used in the "old" days!
